SPONSOR A CHILD & HELP END ILLITERACY

WHAT IS ILLITERACY?

Illiteracy is the inability to read or write. Illiteracy can be caused by the hindrance to a good education for multiple reasons such social, family or motivation problems. The rate of illiteracy is ascending by 32% according to a study by WSI (World Statistics Institute).

Illiteracy not only curbs a countries development but it also hinders the individual growth of a person to reach their full potential. This could also hinder their descendants from achieving a higher goal as illiteracy will be seen as a way of life.

Education is key to curbing illiteracy world wide.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

There are so many ways you can help a child realize their potential and that is by giving them an education. However, children in rural areas do not have the privileged of benefiting in education due to many factors such as: insufficient tuition fees, education centers beings afar off, no one in their family being literate, having to work at a young age and having no one to sponsor their education.

This is where you come in. You can help make education a reality for unprivileged children by:

1. SPONSOR A CHILD TO SCHOOL

With the partnership of Buumbalambo foundation, you can sponsor a child in the rural part of Zambia, Africa to school so that they will be able to have their educational needs met for the betterment of the world.

Please Contact us for further details on how you can help a kid go to school.

2.  DONATE EXERCISE BOOKS AND CHILDREN READING BOOKS

Do you have a bunch of old reading books that you are no longer need of? Is a school near you willing to donate books and stationery to help curb illiteracy in the rural world? Why don't you get in touch with them and organize to have books sent to the children who need them? Contact us for more information.

3. DONATE MONETARY FUNDS, CLOTHES & OTHER USEFUL SUPPLIES

Another reason the children in rural areas are not educated is because they have to look for other ways to survive. Before education, they need to eat, they need to have shelter and most also have the key responsibility of taking care of the family needs. So whilst providing an education for them is key, they also need to survive and monetary funds, clothes for children 1 - 10 years old, food and other useful supplies can motivate them to seek an education.

All proceeds go to the Foundations account. Contact us for more information.

4. CREATE AN EVENT TO RAISE AWARENESS

You can call up your friends, family and colleagues or your community at large to gather up resources that are still useful but that you do not need and send it over. Make a difference today and spread the word. Together let us make the world a better place. Contact us with your ideas.

    1. Thank you so much Sontia, I do what I can and of course I could never do it alone. I admire the way you are mobilizing thousands of women to come together with WTLGL too. :)
