 Holistic Safety Analysis and Intervention

About HoSAI

Holistic Safety Analysis and Intervention (HoSAI) is a program by SAFIGI that uses a three-step methodology to holistically address safety concerns affecting girls. HoSAI uses analysis, education, and intervention as a strategy to identify the appropriate strategy for solving safety concerns in a holistic way.

Step 1: Evaluation

A participant (an individual who has safety concerns) will take a quiz either online or offline. The questions evaluate whether the root cause of a safety concern is internal (mind, culture, or emotional safety) or external (bodily, societal, or environmental safety).

Step 2: Education

Once the primary safety concern is identified, the participant will be directed to a given part of the HoSAI Safety Education course that deals with that particular safety concern. Here they will receive knowledge to understand the safety concern they are dealing with and the best practices to solve it.

Step 3: Intervention

Given the participant requires further support after completing the curriculum, HoSAI will then offer a customized safety kit for the user. This will give the user the best possible solution to the safety issue they are experiencing (e.g. menstrual packages, access to therapy, or school fees for a given period). This custom solution will be based on the six aspects of internal and external safety.

Why HoSAI?

A lack of safety leads to cycles of abuse that not only affect individuals but extend to families, the wider community, and inadvertently, the state of the world. As long as people continue to operate in brokenness (where they have been violated or harmed in some way), dysfunction will be the result. Safety is a pillar that allows individuals, communities, and the world to uphold intrinsic and inalienable human dignity.

HoSAI's intention is to use a multidimensional approach to give girls the space to experience growth, healing, and a radical shift from simply surviving to thriving. The focus on improving the quality of life must move away from primarily an economic one, to prioritizing health,  and safety as indicators of development.

YOU CAN

 MAKE A DIFFERENCE

The smallest acts transform the world. No one is too small to be a positive influence. Simple acts such as writing a blog, creating a playlist, reading and reviewing books, public speaking, fundraising, and taking up space makes lasting positive change in the world.

Will you make a difference today?

FOR GROUPS,

ORGANIZATIONS, & INSTITUTIONS

As organizations that work to improve the livelihoods of girls, we are at the frontlines of transforming systems of systemic gender inequality. Many times, we do not realize how our work impacts on our physical, mental, and emotional states, including our relationships with others.

SAFIGI has built packages to help organizations on the frontlines of gender equality to respond efficiently and prioritize safety within the team of respondents so that important work will continue.

WE ARE GLAD YOU ARE HERE

Our community is unconventional, because of the collective leadership we practice. We have a set of guiding principles to accomplish our work and we recognize that in order to achieve a safe world for girls, every action matters and no contributions is too small. This is why we are so glad you're here.

Learn about our values and processes, and see how you can start changing the world for the better right away!
