CHINA: CLIMBING CORPORATE LADDERS

Updated: Nov 15, 2020

Zhao Danni is a 22 year old girl from China. She studies at Liverpool University.

In her summer vacation this year, she visited her hometown– Chongqing. She got an internship opportunity in a business company located in the center of Chongqing.

She does not want to arrive late in the office, so she wakes up at 6:30 every morning to catch the subway. After reaching her office, she has to sit on the same chair for more than 7 hours which can be tiring. After work, she spends 30 minutes in the subway during rush hour. Sometimes, the work is so tough that she has to take half of it home to finish.

Most days, everyone is eating hot pot' while she is busy listening to online meetings. Sometimes she only takes a break for a few seconds, asking her family to leave a piece of beef for her before resuming her work.

Apart from studying, she made  appropriate use of her summer break to work, earn money and gain corporate experience. She believes she is a typical example of today’s generation and works hard to achieve success in her life.

Zhao’s story describes a girl who wants to work and earn a place of herself in the society.

This was the story of Zhao Danni by Yuhan Zou.
